A lot going on, so little time

Friday our general contractor called me and gave me an update on what is happening. So much, and so quickly!  This weekend they were supposed to finish the drywall entirely on Friday and paint through the weekend. Unfortunately, we visited the house tonight, and no update. The drywall looked sanded but no paint and no progress other than that. We have been in the drywall phase between two and three weeks.
Anyway, I a guessing this week we will begin the paint. In addition, I know for sure the flooring will start and finish this week. The contractor also mentioned trim around the doorways will progress, as well as starting to get the cabinets in for the kitchen and the bathrooms. The following week will be the sinks for the half bathrooms, and toilets for all bathrooms.  This gives them some wiggle room with the timing as our final walk-through is scheduled for June 12th.  Our general contractor said official closing where we get the keys to our new house happens a couple days later.

In addition on Friday (it seems a lot happens on Fridays), NVR sent us an email that our mortgage is out of processing phase.  It has been sent to the approvers for final approval.  Thank goodness! It was kind of sad to see the email from Jenna as she said it was the last we would hear from her. After contacting her over the last several months, it seems weird to be moving forward.  I guess I better start looking at rates to lock in.

Our best friends are getting married this upcoming weekend, Memorial Day weekend. All three of us are in their wedding. We probably will not get a chance to get to our new house to see what progress is happening. I will, as always, keep everyone up to date on what is happening.
